The FileTrack system streamlines data
conversion projects by providing a powerful set of tools to automate conversion work.
While FileTrack is AS/400 based, it works with data from any hardware platform once
brought to the AS/400 in the system's native EBCDIC format.
At FileTrack's core are the system's intuitive data mapping
options, which let users define how data will be transferred between files. The system
also contains powerful conversion testing, project management and documentation tools to
help ensure conversions are completed accurately.
The latest release of FileTrack features the addition of
conversion streams to the system. Conversion streams allow the grouping of multiple
conversion tasks into a single job. The feature allows users to build entire system
conversions (including non-FileTrack job steps) that can be run, and repeated, with a
single screen selection.
According to Outlook Computing president, Mitch Cohen,
"The conversion stream feature provides a lot of flexibility in completing a data
conversion. It lets users incorporate non-FileTrack processes into a FileTrack conversion
and eliminates the need for extensive CL conversion programming."
